Back to Training Mode. With the exception of 2012, I had run the L.A. Marathon three consecutive times. I opted out last year because I was so traumatized by the torrential storm that hit during L.A. 2011. It was enough for me and most of my team mates to forgo the 2012 season. I thought about this decision a lot.. the big question was.. “Do I really want to train again?..” It took me a few weeks to commit, but I caved. For two reasons, one its for a good cause and I get to help raise money for an awesome foundation (The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training (TNT)… and two, I have a very ambitious goal time (Yikes).
I did start my training a little late, but once I’m in… I’m in. I went to Oregon for the holidays to visit my family and I was not about to let the 29º weather stop me from my training run (Although I do wish someone would have stopped me, someone with a beard perhaps?) It was so beautiful out there, I think being in Oregon actually made me an outdoor running snob. The green is endless! Of course they have the rain to thank for this. Anyway, I will be using my Tuesday posts to update you all on my progress. Here is a little insight as to what the Marathon training schedule looks like:
Sunday: Run with TNT (santa monica)
Monday: Yoga Level 1/2 & Cross Training
Tuesday: Yoga Level 2/3 & Run (indoor)
Wednesday: Yoga Level 2/3 & Cross Training
Thursday: Yoga 1/2 & Run (outdoor)
Friday: Yoga 2/3 & Hike (incline training)
Saturday: Yoga Restorative & Rest <3 My Favorite
A Very Special Thank You to The Pendy’s, Sherri Peterson, My Sissy and Brother, Melanie Lautt, Tara Steinke and Red Monkey Designs for their generous donations to my TNT Fundraising page. I will make you all proud! Much Love! xo Roro
